OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)--Residents of Barangays Toliyok and Sebucal, Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental thank President Rodrigo R. Duterte for his Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP), flagship program of Executive Order No. 70 or ‘whole-of-nation’ approach in ending local communist insurgency.
Both barangays received P20 million each worth of funding for the construction of local access roads.
On December 7 and 9, Misamis Occidental celebrates its first two SBDP groundbreaking ceremonies – a highly anticipated ceremonial event that implies the projects are nearing to benefit the people of Toliyok and Sebucal.
Future full of hope
Toliyok Punong Barangay Melchora P. Sarial is grateful of President Duterte’s SBDP as she narrated the challenges she experienced long before the implementation of the projects in their village.
“Dako gyud among pasalamat sa kaayohan nga gihatag sa gobyerno, pinaagi ni Presidente Duterte, kay gitagaan gyud niya og pagtagad ang among sitwasyon diri sa among barangay,” she shared.
(We are very grateful for the benefits provided by the government through President Duterte because he really paid attention to our situation here in our barangay)
The ongoing construction of Toliyok-Sitio Bagong Tipan Farm-to-Market Road (FMR) paved the way for the people to experience the life they once dreamed of, which is now becoming a reality.
For Balian Dionesio Samson, it is only during Duterte’s administration where Barangay Sebucal felt the presence of the government. With this, Samson expressed his heartfelt thanksgiving to the national government for granting the FMR project in their barangay.
“Sukad ra gyud sa administrasyon ni Presidente nga naka sinati mi nga adunay gobyerno nga wala gyud nagpasagad sa iyahang mga katawhan sama namo diri sa Sebucal (It is only during the President’s administration that we felt the government here in Sebucal),” he expressed.
