Misamis Occidental (PIA)--Western Mindanao Command Chief Lt. Gen. Alfredo Rosario, Jr. paid a visit to Misamis Occidental Governor Philip Tan at the Governor’s residence in Tangub City, February 3 to personally check on the security situation in the area and assess what best practices should be applied to ensure the honest and peaceful conduct of national and local elections on May 9. 

Meanwhile, Tan said politicians in the province do not resort to political violence.

“We will properly collaborate and cooperate with the military and police to ensure the safety of our constituents and our fellow candidates,” Tan said.

During his call to the Misamis Occidental Governor, Rosario was accompanied by BGen Leonel Nicolas, commander of the 102nd Infantry Brigade and BGen Jose Randolf Sino Cruz, assistant division commander of the 1st Infantry Division.

The WestMinCom Commander continuously meets with the local chief executives of the provinces, cities, and municipalities under the operational area of the Western Mindanao Command to establish rapport and strengthened collaboration with the local government officials, and ensure peace in the communities, especially during the election period.
