Salvador town benefits from 5 LGSF-AM projects

SALVADOR, Lanao del Norte --The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 turned over five (5) projects funded under the Local Government Support Program – Assistance to Municipalities (LGSF-AM) to the local government unit of Salvador, Lanao del Norte on February 11, 2022.

The turned over projects are the following: Construction of Footbridge in Barangay Poblacion and Cable Suspended Footbridge in Barangay Pinaliwad-on, Improvement of Evacuation Center in Barangay Inasagan and Drug Rehabilitation Center in Barangay Poblacion, and Upgrading of Local Access Road of Sudlon to Camp III Road.

[The AM project is not given by the national government to an LGU without any criteria. One basis of the national government in granting said funding is the LGU’s merit and this shows that the LGU Salvador, through the leadership of your mayor, deserves funding of your priority projects.]

Agabe said LGUs should continue doing their best to get the trust of the national government in funding projects needed by the public.

Meanwhile, Mayor Farhanie Tawantawan thanked DILG for the support given to her municipality. She said that the completion of the projects will pave the way for their local farmers and other neighboring municipalities to easily transport their products to the market.

According to her, the projects will also provide convenience to the teachers, tourists and travelers, and most especially for the barangays to ensure faster delivery of service to their people.

(These projects give pride to the municipality and the people of Salvador. These projects are the result of the DILG’s and LGU Salvador’s collaboration which aims to provide useful projects and service for the people.)

LGSF-AM is a National Government Program designed to address the rising public expectations in the delivery of basic services and seeks to equitable assist all municipalities by providing financial subsidy to LGUs for the implementation of their priority programs and projects. (DILG 10)
