MARAWI CITY— Bangsamoro Parliament Member Dr. Saffrullah Dipatuan has filed a measure for the construction of a level one (1) municipal hospital with a capacity of 25 beds in the municipality of Kapai, Lanao del Sur.
MP Dipatuan said the proposed BTA Parliament Bill No. 172, also known as the Kapai Municipal Hospital Act of 2022, seeks to establish a hospital in the area to meet the basic healthcare and medical needs of more than 30,000 population of the two neighboring municipalities of Kapai and Tagoloan.
“People are experiencing difficulties in accessing health services because of isolation and poor road infrastructure,” he said, noting the two municipalities are among the geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas in Lanao del Sur.
He reiterated that the Bangsamoro government is committed to providing for a comprehensive and integrated health service delivery for its constituents and establishing by law a general hospital system to serve the health requirements of its people.
If passed into law, the establishment of the hospital will be under the administrative supervision of the Minister of Health, and the funds necessary to carry out this measure, including the maintenance and operation of the hospital, will be included in the Bangsamoro Appropriations Act and other pertinent laws.
