403Bde takes part in pact signing for peaceful 2022 polls

CAMP OSITO BAHIAN, Malaybalay City (PIA)—The 403rd Infantry ‘Peacemaker’ Brigade Philippine Army joined in the unity walk, interfaith rally, candidates briefing, and covenant signing to ensure orderly and peaceful elections on May 9.

Major General Wilbur C. Mamawag, Commander of the 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division Philippine Army, represented by Col. Leo E. Bongosia, the Officer-In-Charge of 403rd Infantry (Peacemaker) Brigade in his message said the Philippine Army’s commitment to having an honest, orderly, and peaceful election is one way of strengthening its partnership with the people and with God to attain lasting peace and development.

“The signing of the peace covenant signifies our promise to make our election solemn and violence-free. The 4ID shall maintain the highest discipline and professionalism to accomplish the peace agreement. We will remain non-partisan and fair to all. But maintaining an honest, orderly, and peaceful election is not an easy task. That is why we need your cooperation to achieve the success of today’s peace signing. Furthermore, everyone must respect the rights of each other and strictly follow the guidelines set by the Comelec and other pertinent laws,” MGen. Mamawag said.

Our troops are capable and ready to comply with the mandate entrusted to us. As for combat and security operations, we will also continue to prevent the CTGs or Communist Terrorists Groups’ intimidation and threats to voters and candidates. Voting is not only our right-it is our power,” he added.

The activity kicked off with the Unity walk from Plaza Rizal to PNP headquarters at Camp Ramon Onahon, Malaybalay City at 8:00 A.M. headed by Police Brigadier General Ronaldo R. Cabral, DRDA-10; Bukidnon PPO Provincial Director Jun Mark J. Lagare; Provincial Election Supervisor Atty. Joseph Hamilton Cuevas;

Engr. Carmelo Enrique Libot, DILG provincial director; Valencia City Election Officer Atty. Emanuelle Ebarle; Diocese of Malaybalay PPCRV Director Fr. Noel Laguna Jr; Commanding Officer of 88IB Lt.
