OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office (Mis. Occ. PFO) paid out 68 Jimenez beneficiaries of their 10-day work under the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) worth P3,650 each, March 17 at Jimenez Farmers Cultural Gymnasium, here.
DOLE-10 Mis. Occ. Provincial Field Office Chief Ebba Borbon-Acosta said under the program, the beneficiaries were involved in community-based activities on the clean-up and disinfection of public places with a total of P248,200 wages.
Acosta said the clean-up covered tourist activity areas which allowed them to improve the quality of their physical living conditions and contributed to the welfare of the community and the entire city.
Mark Khim C. Cabalhin, regional service worker and communications officer of the barangay health workers (BHW) partylist, attended the event and advised the beneficiaries to use the money appropriately in order to help improve their standard of living.
TUPAD is a component of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP) that provides displaced and underprivileged workers obtain temporary jobs. (DOLE Mis. Occ. PFO/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
