BOAC, MARINDUQUE -- Marinduque State College would be celebrating its 70th foundation by June 21 with the theme MSC@70: Gearing Towards a University with Institutional Maturity, Genuine Service to Humanity and Intellectual Courtesy.
To commemorate this occasion there would be an opening performance by the MSC Integrated High School Drum and Lyre Ensemble with the MSC Marching Band by Monday, June 20.
Then there will be an opening of stalls showcasing the innovative, creative and cutting-edge artworks and products of the four colleges of MSC: College of Engineering, Industrial and Information Technology; College of Natural and Allied Health Sciences; College of Accountancy, Business & Governance along with the College of Education, Arts & Social Sciences at the auxiliary building. After lunch, there would be The Great Filipino Work-out and an exhibition game between the Faculty and Administrative Employees at the MSC gymnasium.
Moreover, on the day itself, MSC employees, faculty members, college officials, students and the whole community would be having a motorcade around the heritage town of Boac. Then a thanksgiving mass at the MSC gym.
There would also be a blessing of the CEASS Technology and Livelihood Education Senior High School Buildings. And before the highlight of the platinum anniversary of MSC, there would be an opening of the Local Heritage Tour and ribbon-cutting of the MSC Museum with its inaugural historical exhibit.
The highlight of the 70th foundation anniversary of the College is the awarding of plaques of appreciation to MSC officer in-charge, MSC Presidents, MSC bill authors and the distinguished alumni award.
The momentous occasion would be capped with a cultural night and welcome dinner. Other corollary activities of the platinum foundation of MSC are as follows: the Book Nook Marinduque Hibla Local Filipina Summer Art Workshop from May 30 to June 21 at the MSC Extramural Study Center in Brgy. Capayang, Mogpog, Marinduque.
Then the Joint-Seminar of the Marinduque Studies Center with the Cavite Studies Center carried out last June 1-3 with the technical assistance of the National Commission for Culture and the Arts and the National Historical Commission of the Philippines. There was also a Conversation on Conservation with Ar. Maynard Muhi, Ar. Roy Manrique, Ar. Marjonier Malabanan, Ar. Giles Sol and Ar. Beda Magturo.
Marinduque State College is celebrating its 70th foundation year this 2022, since its inception as Marinduque School of Arts and Trades from 1952-1983, Marinduque Institute of Science and Technology from 1983-1992 before being the Marinduque State College from 1992-2019 transitioning to Marinduque State University from 2019 onwards with the passage of RA 11334.
