CAMIGUIN (PIA)--Out of 27 barangays declared as National Passers by the Seal of Good Local Governance for Barangay (SGLGB) National Quality Committee (NCQ) in Region 10, three of which are from the Province of Camiguin—Barangay Benoni, Kuguita, and Balite.
Certificates of Commendation from the central office will be awarded to Barangay Benoni of LGU Mahinog, Barangay Kuguita of LGU Mambajao, and Barangay Balite of Sagay as a recognition of the exemplary performance of the said barangays.
The SGLGB NCQ has selected 549 barangays nationwide as national passers following a thorough evaluation of the 2021 SGLGB regional barangay entries.
The said barangays were assessed based on assessment criteria and indicators wherein barangays are expected to pass all of the three core areas, namely: Safety, Peace and Order; Financial Administration and Sustainability; and Disaster Preparedness and at least one (1) of the three (3) essential areas, namely: Social Protection and Sensitivity; Business-Friendliness and Competitiveness or Environmental Management.
The SGLGB was organized to encourage and challenge barangays to scale up its performance and practices of good governance that accord primacy to the principles of accountability, transparency, performance, and effectiveness. (DILG-10/PIA-10/Camiguin)
