DSWD-10 continues to aid TS Odette affected families

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--With the onslaught of Tropical Storm Odette in northern Mindanao, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10 continuously augments assistance and services to its affected families in the region.

For the first semester of CY 2022, the regional office through its Regional Disaster Response Management Division has provided financial assistance to a total of 6,753 unserved TS Odette survivors.

The ongoing payout in Region 10 is in response to the request of their respective local government units (LGUs) who have not foreseen the additional number of the typhoon’s affected families.

The TS Odette financial assistance is based on the Department of the Interior and Local Government-DSWD-Department of National Defense Joint Memorandum Circular No. 4 Series of 2021 and Local Budget Circular (LBC) No. 141. These provisions state that the affected individuals shall receive an amount of P1,000 per affected individual, with a maximum amount of P5,000 per family. (DSWD-10/PIA-10)
