PGLDN turns over provincial roads

LANAO DEL NORTE (PIA)--The Provincial Engineering's Office of the Provincial Government of Lanao del Norte (PGLDN) held the two-day activity for the Mass turnover of nine (9) provincial roads, May 17-18, 2022.

These projects were funded under the Konkreto at Ayos na Lansangan ang Daan tungo sa Pangkalahatang Kaunlaran (KALSADA)/Conditional Matching Grant to Provinces (CMGP) implemented by PGLDN under the leadership of Governor Imelda 'Angging' Quibranza Dimaporo.

Using the new provincial bus, Dimaporo personally went to each road section for the ribbon cutting together with Department of Interior and Local Government Provincial Director Bruce Colao.

On its first day, the team started the remarkable turn-over of five provincial road sections at the Municipalities of Tubod, Baroy, and Lala. These are the Malingao-Bualan Provincial Road (7.614kms- funds under CMGP,DPWH,PGLDN), Baroy-Sta. Cruz-Salong Provincial Road (13.614kms-under CMGP,LGSF & PGLDN funds), Lala -Gumagamot Provincial Road (3.665kms-funding uner KALSADA & PGLDN),Matungao-San Isidro Upper Provincial Road (3.222 kms -under CMGP,LGSF & PGLDN funds) and the Malingao - Licapao - Dalama Provincial Road (4300 kms - - funds under CMGP,DPWH,PGLDN).

Municipal Mayor Leoncio Bagol and Mayor Rose Olafsson joined the ceremony held at Brgy. Salong, Baroy, wherein they thanked DILG and the Provincial Government for the support given to accomplish their long-time dream for the people.

Further, Regional Director Arnel Agape of DILG-10 joined the team on the second day of mass turn-over activity for the municipalities of Kauswagan, Bacolod, Maigo, Kolambugan, and Tangcal. Agabe expressed his appreciation to the active leadership of the Governor.

"These development are mere proof that there is peace and unity. We are also glad as you flattened the number of your COVID cases. However, I am appealing to all; let us help the government and Governor Dimaporo attain herd immunity. This is for everyone," said Agabe during the ceremony held at the Municipality of Tangcal.

The Provincial Road of Kawit-Paiton-Inudaran- Delabayan of Kauswagan (11.54kms- under CMGP,DPWH, PRMF-AusAid & PGLDN funds), Rupagan-Pagayawan of Bacolod(6.43kms - under CMGP, LGSF & PGLDN funds), Maigo-Mentring- Inoma (11.225 kms - under KALSADA, CMGP,DPWH & PGLDN funds), Kolambugan-Tangcal (12.038 kms - under KALSADA, CMGP,DPWH & PGLDN funds) were turned-over on March 18, 2022.

The governor thanked all the PGLDN Department heads and Local Government Officials for their help in attaining this development.
"These projects are the fruit of our collaboration. Our Provincial Roads is approximately 163.399 km. We are glad to share that 142 km of it were already concreted and 11 km were asphalted. There is still remaining unpaved of 10.399 km, which we allocated budget for this year 2022, she said.

The concreting of these roads are very essential in transporting the products of every locality and ensuring safe mobility. PGLDN also made sure of these projects to provide people easy access to their vital needs and for the development of the province.

Vice Governor Ma. Cristina N. Atay, all department heads of the PGLDN, Mayor Fatima Tomawis of Tangkal, Mayor Judith Miquibas of Bacolod, Mayor Lorenzo Mañigos of Kolambugan and Maigo Administrator Rafael Rizalda were also present during the ceremony.

These projects were pushed through with the support of the two dynamic Congressional Offices led by Congressman Mohamad Khalid Q. Dimaporo of the 1st District and Congressman Abdullah Dimakuta Dimaporo of the 2nd District. (PIO-LDN/PIA-10/Lanao del Norte)
