DILG-10 LGRRC to showcase knowledge products to Normin’s NEOs

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--To showcase the knowledge products of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10, the Local Governance Regional Resource Center (LGRRC) is set to display its reference materials and services to the Newly Elected Officials (NEO) of the Region during the NEO Orientation, August 3, at Limketkai Luxe Hotel, here.

Among the reference materials to be displayed are the Reports on Capacity Development (CapDev) Analytics, Local Road Management (LRM) Manual, Locally Funded Project (LFP) Coffee Table Books, the Support to Barangay Development Program (SBDP) Success Stories, among others.

“There is a wealth of information on good local governance and the LGRRC-10 is making its efforts to consolidate such and share these to our local government units (LGUs) so they could ideally apply their learnings in their respective areas,” said DILG Assistant Regional Director and LGRRC Manager Yvette Tolentino-Sunga.

Sunga sees the perfect opportunity to showcase said materials during the NEO Orientation Course as the said activity would converge the local officials not only of Region 10 but also of Region 9 and CARAGA Region.

As such, DILG-10 will also provide an exhibit area for DILG Zamboanga, DILG Caraga, partner national government agencies (NGAs), Local Government Academy (LGA), League of Municipalities of the Philippines (LMPs), and other private organizations to showcase their knowledge products highlighting the programs, projects, and activities (PPAs) of their respective areas of responsibility.

“We look forward that through the displayed reference materials, participating local chief executives (LCEs) of the NEO Orientation will make use of the information they need as they execute their respective roles and responsibilities during their term,”Sunga added.

The LGRRC is a dynamic, interactive and virtual program that contributes to building the DILG as a knowledge centric organization and builds learning communities that pursue local governance excellence through knowledge sharing and innovation. (DILG-10/PIA-10)
