CAMIGUIN (PIA)--The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) Camiguin, in close collaboration with the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Camiguin, the Provincial Government of Camiguin and its five component municipalities, launched the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS) Roadshow, August 5, 2022.
The activity aimed to increase awareness and knowledge on CBMS and secure higher participation rate from each household residing in the locality during the data collection phase of the 2022 CBMS operations.
It was emphasized by DILG Camiguin during the activity that the support of LGUs is essential for they are one of the end users of the data, which can be used for evidence-based planning and budgeting.
The CBMS aims to (1) produce updated and disaggregated data required for beneficiary targeting; (2) carry out more thorough poverty analysis and needs prioritization; and (3) provide information that will enable a system of public spending that justifies government allocation on areas and populations that are most in need.
