MANDALUYONG CITY -- To help the earthquake-hit communities in Abra and Ilocos Sur prevent waterborne diseases, the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) continued promoting proper hygiene practices over the weekend.

Last Saturday, August 6, the PRC Ilocos Sur conducted hygiene promotion sessions for 37 families or 152 individuals in Brgy. Fuerte, Caoayan, 22 families or 92 individuals in Brgy. Casiber, Santa, 24 families or 103 individuals in Brgy. Rancho, Santa, 35 families or 161 individuals in Brgy. Calongbuyan, Santa, and 98 families or 248 individuals in Zone 3, Muslim Community, Bantay.

On August 7, Sunday, the PRC Abra Chapter facilitated hygiene promotion lectures for 54 individuals in Dalimag San Isidro, 306 individuals in Brgy. Pidipid La Paz, 132 individuals in Brgy. South Calaba, and 166 individuals in Brgy. Budac Tayum. It also distributed sanitary pads (MegaSoft) to 50 individuals and 4 maternity sets in Dalimag, San Isidro.

3,123 individuals in Abra and 7,196 individuals in Ilocos Sur have participated in hygiene promotion activities as of August 8.

(Philippine Red Cross)
