DIGOS CITY, Davao del Sur – The provincial head of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) Davao del Sur Provincial Field Office has assured support for the vice mayors in the province on matters aligned with the local and national goals.

DILG Davao del Sur Provincial Director Mika-Chan S. Magtulis said that the agency is always ready to provide technical and administrative support.

The DILG Davao del Sur in close coordination with the Vice Mayors League of the Philippines (VMLP) National facilitated the conduct of chapter elections in the province on August 9, 2022 at Crisbel Hotel, Digos City.

Magtulis explained that the VMLP is mandated to collaborate with the national, local, and international agencies and organizations in attaining efficient and effective local legislation.

The league also develops programs that enrich the capabilities of local legislative bodies.

In the election, Magtulis bared that the VLMP Davao del Sur candidates ran unopposed and received zero election protests.

The new set of officers for VLMP Davao del Sur Chapter 2022-2025 are as follows: President - Johari Gomez Bana (Digos City); Vice President - Samuel Basilio Gadingan (Bansalan); Secretary General - Marivic L. Caminero (Kiblawan); Treasurer - Irick A. Agbon (Matanao); Auditor - Juwill G. Carpenter (Padada); Public Relations Officer - Jerome A. Undalok (Sta Cruz); Board of Directors - Jesus S. Dureza, Jr. (Hagonoy) and Arthur D. Davin (Magsaysay).

Magtulis chairs the VMLP COMELEC, with Ervin S. Emphasis (Malalag) and Willie S. Villegas (Sulop) as members.

Right after elections, National VMLP Interim Officer Willie S. Villegas facilitated the conduct of the short meeting.

It was attended by all city and municipal vice-mayors. They were able to discuss, among others, national VMLP updates, current initiatives, turn-over of documents, physical and financial accomplishments of the VMLP Davao del Sur Chapter. (DILG-Davao del Sur)
