QUEZON CITY -- Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Secretary Erwin T. Tulfo on Monday, August 15, gave a stern warning against individuals who will submit fake documentary requirements in requesting for assistance under the Assistance to Individuals in Crisis Situation (AICS) program.
“Kakasuhan natin iyon, falsification of public documents [dahil] pinaglalaruan mo ang dokumento ng gobyerno, pinaglalaruan mo iyong ika nga mga resources, pinaglalaruan ninyo at pinenepeke ninyo ang mga requirements (We will charge them for falsification of public documents because they are making a mockery of the requirements),” the Secretary said.
While the Department ensures the provision of efficient and effective services to families and individuals in difficult circumstances, the DSWD also appeals to the public not to abuse the efforts and initiatives of the agency in easing the procedures in requesting aid from the government.
It can be recalled that the Department recently issued Memorandum Circular (MC) No. 15 series of 2022, following the directive from Secretary Tulfo to expedite the release of assistance and other interventions under the AICS program for its target sectors.
AICS is a DSWD program which provides aid to individuals and families in crisis who are seeking assistance for medical, funeral, food, transportation, educational, and other support services.
As part of the directives of the Secretary, DSWD continues its commitment to fast track the provision of appropriate services so that many Filipinos in urgent need will be timely assisted. (DSWD)
