MANILA – The Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP) held its Regional Macroeconomic Conference Series (RMCS) for North Luzon on 23 August 2022. Discussed during the conference was the role of regional data in policymaking.
In line with this, BSP Governor Felipe M. Medalla shared that the central bank looks forward to hearing regional stakeholders’ insights, which are close to the ground, to validate data that BSP uses in its economic models.
Aside from soliciting inputs for policy recommendations, the conference also gathered perspectives from North Luzon stakeholders on the country’s strong macroeconomic fundamentals. Data that underscored the stability of the banking system were also presented.
This leg of the RMCS is the third of the conferences similarly held online for Davao City on February 22 this year and Cebu City on 28 September 2021.
