On September 5, troops belonging to the 203rd Infantry Brigade and PNP personnel at Sitio Ibong in Barangay Pag-asa, Bansud, Oriental Mindoro facilitated the surrenders of alias Waly and alias Jores, both members of KLG Mav from Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4A and residents of Sitio Artemia in Barangay Bubog, San Jose, Occidental Mindoro. Subsequently, on September 12, joint forces of 203rd Bde and PNP personnel at Sitio Ibong also facilitated the yielding of alias Apple, a resident of barangay Del Pilar in Naujan, Oriental Mindoro and former Vice Platoon Leader of Platun Kanluran Batangas belonging to the STRPC’s SRMA 4C. The said rebel returnee also surrendered one colt M16A1 rifle and a short magazine with 18 rounds of 5.56mm live ammunition.
‘These recent surrenders are testament to the truth that the CPP-NPA-NDF is indeed weakening. This is why we are urging those who are still in arms to surrender so they may live a better life with their families and benefit from the support of our government.’ 2ID Acting Commander Brig. Gen Rommel K. Tello said in a statement. (PR)
