CAMIGUIN (PIA)--The Project Development, Investment Programming and Budgeting Division (PDIPBD) of the National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA)-10 conducted its second session of the Seminar-Workshop for the Formulation/Updating of the Camiguin Provincial Development Investment Program (PDIP).

Camiguin Gov. Xavier Jesus D. Romualdo, together with the staff from the Provincial Local Government Unit of Camiguin Office participates in said seminar-workshop.

Charina M. Magsalay, chief administrative officer of NEDA-10, on behalf of Dir. Mylah Faye Aurora B. Carino, reminds the participants that the PDIP process is a combination of the technical capability of the planning officials and the political judgments of the provincial governor and the other elective officials in responding to expressed needs of the people.

She also emphasized the importance of the PDIP in identifying and gathering resources necessary to transform the vision of the province of Camiguin to become a ‘world class ecotourism destination in the Philippines’ into reality.

The PDIP is a multi-year (a 6-year period time frame with the first 3 years firmed up along the priorities of the local chief executives) planning tool used by local government units to identify needed capital projects and to coordinate the financing and timing of investments in a way that maximizes the benefits to the citizens.

For his part, Romualdo encouraged his staff to be proactive and meticulous especially in the identification of projects concerning education, health, and infrastructure as said projects will be the primary components in steering provincial development for Camiguin.
