NIA Administrator Benny D. Antiporda ensures irrigation services to the Palawan farmers and Irrigators Associations (IA) during the NIA-IA Congress on October 22, 2022.

“Sa kasalukuyan, aaksyunan po namin ang lahat ng sirang irrigation system sa ating bansa. Uumpisahan natin isa-isa. Kung ano po ang kaya naming remedyuhan ay gagawin namin. Ano pong ibig sabihin ng remedyo-- gagawan namin ng paraan na masiguro na ang daloy ng tubig ay aabot sa inyong sakahan. Bawat sentimo na manggagaling sa ating bayan na pondo ay ibabalik namin sa inyo. Gagamitin ninyo ang bawat pera ng pamahalaan," said Antiporda.

One of the major policies of Antiporda is to ensure that issues and concerns of the farmers and Irrigators Associations are being acted upon. Hence, he recognized the effort of NIA-Mimaropa’s new Regional Manager Ronie Cervantes in immediate inspection and validation of existing irrigation problems in the province of Palawan.

“Ngayon nakita ninyo ang inyong bagong Regional Manager ay nakikipaghabulan sa inyong lingkod. Kung anong sipag ng inyong administrator, ang inyong Regional Manager ay ganoon din kasipag; nag-ikot na sa Palawan. Ganyan po kagaling ang NIA ngayon,” emphasized Antiporda.

He further encouraged the IAs to utilize the social media particularly Facebook to easily communicate their concerns.

During the event, various IAs were given opportunity to personally share their irrigation-related problems which the administrator positively answered. Aside from the discussion of issues and concerns, awarding of outstanding IAs and pledge of commitment signing was also conducted to symbolize the support of the IAs to the programs of the government.
