DA-10 chief discusses swine industry recovery project with CDO city official

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-10 headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado discussed with City Mayor Rolando A. Uy the Integrated National Swine Production Initiatives for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) project for 2023 at the latter’s office, October 26.

Collado said the project aims to calibrate the repopulation and enhancement of the local swine industry to recover the sector’s capacity to produce sufficient supply of hogs and pork in the city.

As a component of the INSPIRE program, DA-10 has allocated Php10 million for the construction of biosecured swine fattening facility, procurement of piglets, feeds, drugs and biologics that will serve as starter to increase the production of the hog industry.

Attendees to the meeting are City Councilor Jay Roa Pascual, City Veterinarian Dr. Perla T. Asis, and DA-10 personnel. (DA-10/PIA-10)
