CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA)-10 through its Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (AMAD) supports the staging of the 2022 Oro Best Expo which runs, October 26-30, 2022, here.
With the theme, “Transforming Mindanao Agriculture towards a Food-Secure Future,” the said expo was organized by the Cagayan de Oro Chamber of Commerce and Industry Foundation, Inc. (Oro Chamber) to promote and showcase food and agricultural products, and various agri-fishery services in the region.
The DA-10 participated in the expo to help farmers, fishers and other food industry stakeholders in the region to promote their products and services and link them with potential buyers and partners to expand their market reach.
DA-10 OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado said the agency supported the event as part of its goal in transforming, improving, and sustaining the food supply chain in the region.
“We are intensifying our efforts in providing our farmers and fishers the access to profitable markets through activities like this expo. It is our aim to capacitate them to be part of our effort in invigorating the region's agriculture sector," Collado said.
The DA-attached agencies such as the Philippine Coconut Authority (PCA), Agricultural Training Institute (ATI), Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR), National Dairy Authority (NDA), National Food Authority (NFA), and the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC) also showcase their products and services at the DA booth during the expo.
The department also invited a number of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) from the different parts of the region to display their products at the expo. (DA-10/PIA-10)
