DAVAO CITY - It proved to be a big night for Ingenuity Software, VXI, Sutherland, and SixEleven Global Services, bringing home multiple awards in the first-ever IT-BPM awards held at Acacia Hotel last November 10, 2022, spearheaded by the ICT Davao Inc and sponsored by the Davao City Investment Promotion Center (DCIPC).

Present at the black-tie event were BPO executives there to cheer on their team and network with colleagues. The guests were pleasantly surprised when Vice President Inday Sara Duterte sent a video message congratulating the winners and thanking the BPO industry for being an active force in revitalizing Davao City’s economy after the pandemic.

There were 14 awards given out that night. Seven awards were in the enterprise category, for BPOs with 1,000 FTEs or more, and 7 awards for the micro, small and medium-scale BPOs.

In the MSME category, Ingenuity Software and SixEleven Global Services were the night's big winners. Ingenuity took home 3 awards: Best Corporate Social Responsibility for MSME, Best Community Impact for MSME, and the highest award in the MSME category, the Madayaw Award (Best Place to Work For).

SixEleven was also triumphant with the Barani Award (Best Covid Response) in the MSME category and the Fastest Growing MSME.

In the enterprise category, Sutherland and VXI took home two awards each. Sutherland won Best Corporate Social Responsibility and Most Innovative Post-Covid Response. VXI took home the Largest Employer Award and Best Community Impact. But it was Teleperformance Davao who took home the highest award in the enterprise category, the Madayaw Award (best place to work for).

Other award winners include: Next BPO Solutions winning the Most Innovative Post Covid Response in the MSME category, IBEX Philippines winning the Barani Award (Best Covid Response) in the enterprise category, Cavista Philippines for Best Employee Engagement in the MSME category and Awesome OS winning Best Employee Engagement enterprise category.

The organizers intend to make the IT-BPM awards a yearly event, as a way to give back to these companies who have done so much for the city and encourage more locators to come to Davao.

Atty Samuel Matunog, President of ICT Davao Inc. explains, “We have been planning to do this for a long time. It’s only fitting that we recognize the efforts and the contributions of the IT-BPM industry in the local economy”

Mr. Xavier Eric Manalastas, President of BPOADI adds, “The IT BPM industry is among those worst hit by the pandemic. Yet we’re still the biggest contributors to the city’s economy. For the past 15 years, no recognition has been given to our locators. We want to honor them and we want to tell the world that we are back!”

To ensure that these awards become a regular event, DTI XI, DICT XI, MinDa XI, TESDA XI, President of the Davao City Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Dr. Malou Monteverde and the Chair of the Information Technology Committee, Councilor Bonz Andre Militar pledged their support to help the bring more sustainable growth to the city.

The winners were selected by judges from DCIPC, DTI and DICT. The results were independently tabulated by SGV.
