National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Executive and Officer-in-Charge Atty. Eryl Royce R. Nagtalon leads the Irrigators Association (IA) Congress in Oriental Mindoro on December 8, 2022 at Parang Beach Resort, Calapan City, Oriental Mindoro.
With him is Engr. William P. Ragodon of the Office of the Senior Deputy Administrator together with NIA MIMAROPA Regional Manager Ronie Cervantes, Oriental Mindoro 1st District Representative Hon. Arnan C. Panaligan, MOMARO IMO Division Manager Gerardo R. Perez, and Representative of the Office of the Provincial Governor Mr. Venerando Sanchez. Also present are Engineering and Operations Division Manager Lowell L. Lozano, Administrative and Finance Division Manager Kirsty Caroline M. Hernandez-Aceron and representatives from other partner agencies: Ms. Chel Infantado of National Food Authority (NFA), Mr. Rogelio Madarcos of Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), Mr. Artemio Casareno of Department of Agriculture (DA) and Mr. Ferdinand Abas of Landbank of the Philippines (LBP). The congress is also attended by about 200 members and officials of the IA of Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon and employees of MOMARO IMO and NIA MIMAROPA Regional Office.
The IA Congress is an annual and regular gathering of the IAs of National Irrigation Systems (NIS) and Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS) under Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office.
The activity highlights the turnover of four (4) Communal Irrigation Systems (CIS): Sigange Small Irrigation Project (SIP), Carmundo SIP, Lapog CIS and Panulong La Purisima CIS. Twelve (12) outstanding performing IAs were also recognized and awarded. The activity also included the IA forum where the farmers were given opportunity to personally air their issues and concerns in which the NIA management positively addressed. (NIA MIMAROPA)
