MARAWI CITY, Lanao del Sur (PIA)--The European Union (EU), through the Support to Bangsamoro Transition (SUBATRA) program, turned over two (2) coaster buses and a LED wall to the Bangsamoro Government, January 16.
Head of Delegation of the EU to the Philippines, H.E. Ambassador Luc Veron, handed over the keys to BARMM Chief Minister Ahod Ebrahim, witnessed by Senior Minister Abdulraof Macacua, Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity, and National Defense Secretary Carlito Galvez Jr., and members of the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA) Parliament.
The buses are worth P2.2 million each while the LED wall is worth P750,000, which will be given to the communications team of the Office of the Chief Minister (OCM).
The BTA members will use the buses, especially when holding public hearings and meetings to get their remaining priority codes passed.
Chief Minister Ebrahim promised that the coasters would be used well to help the Bangsamoro people get services.
"May these coasters serve as a symbol of our mutual trust and strengthen our collaboration as we approach the fulfillment of the transition period of the BARMM government," said Ebrahim.
Veron, on the other hand, said that EU-SUBATRA will help the BTA Parliament make sure that public consultations in the region are open to everyone.
"Beyond these buses and information equipment, the EU is confident that after the transition period, we would have contributed in putting in place a more responsive and capacitated Bangsamoro Government, exposing principles of democracy and inclusive governance as specified in the Bangsamoro Organic Law," Veron said.
