Boac, Marinduque - Mahigit sa 10 island-based na mga akademikong institusyon ang kabilang sa pinakabagong progama ng Island Innovation, ang Academic Council.

Kasama sa mga ito ang mga sumusunod na Pamantasan sa buong daigdig: Center for the Blue Economy, Waddenacademie, Shridath Ramphal Centre, Institute for Northern Studies, Institute of Island Studies, Islands and Small States Institute ng University of Malta, Jersey International Centre of Advanced Studies at University of Guam.

Ayon kay James Ellsmoor ng Island Innovation, “many of the most talented thinkers in the world may be university professors and academic researchers.”

Ang programa ay naglalayong magkaroon ng ugnayan at kolaborasyon sa pagitan ng komunidad na pang-isla at akademya, para sa pagbabahagihan ng saliksik kasama ang iba-ibang stakeholder para mapagtibay ang kawing ng riserts at polisiya para magamit ang mga ebidensya sa pagdedesisyon.

Ang Island Innovation ay isang organisasyon na nagsasagawa at nangangasiwa ng virtual island summit kung saan mayroong iba-ibang track at paksa kagaya ng climate action & adaptation; health, education, diversity & inclusion; renewable energy & clean energy transition; circular economy; blue economy, conservation & the ocean; sustainable tourism; agriculture, trade & food security at blockchain & cryptocurrency. Sila rin ay mayroong programa para sa isla at kapuluan tulad ng ambassador at fellowship program.

Ang Institute of Arts and Social Sciences ay nasa ilalim ng College of Education, Arts and Social Sciences ng magiging Marinduque State University sa lalong madaling panahon.

Ang pinuno ng MSC Sentro ng Wika at Kultura, Dr. Ernesto Largado ang may inisyatiba kaagapay ang MSC Culture and Arts Creative Hub coordinator na si Dr. Randy Nobleza sa pakikipag-ugnayan sa Office of Media and International Affairs at Vice President for Academic Affairs. Ang Enero ay nakatalagang International Month of Creativity. (MSC)
