NHA-10 releases P4.935-M EHAP aid to flood victims in Gingoog

GINGOOG CITY, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The National Housing Authority (NHA) General Manager (GM) Joeben Tai led the distribution of P4.935 million in financial assistance to families affected by the recent flash floods in northern Mindanao, January 20.

The NHA Emergency Housing Assistance Program (EHAP) provided P5,000 in cash assistance to 987 Gingoog City victim families whose homes were damaged or destroyed by the severe weather disruption in December 2022.

"The NHA is relentlessly fulfilling its mandate to help improve and develop the standard of living of poor families, and those living in dangerous areas," Tai said.

The NHA-10 released the EHAP funds following the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., to all government agencies to immediately assist all affected families.

"We continue to do this to fulfill one of the wishes of our President—to have a progressive and peaceful life for our fellow Filipinos—by building resettlement sites and supporting those affected by calamities and disasters," he added.

Joining the EHAP distribution were Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia, Gingoog City Mayor Erick Cañosa, Gingoog City Vice Mayor Thaddeus P Lugod, and representatives from NHA-10.

The NHA released P2.38 billion in EHAP funds in 2022 alone, benefiting 250,997 calamity-victim families in rebuilding their houses. (NHA/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
