DOLE-10 resolves labor concerns via SEnA

CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 Cagayan de Oro City Field Office, headed by Field Director Emmanuel G. Toledo, addressed through the Single Entry Approach (SEnA) mechanism numerous walk-in and online Requests for Assistance (RFAs) involving various labor issues and concerns from the workers in different establishments in the city.

Among the issues and concerns received by the Office, January 16–20, 2023, were the non-payment of 13th month pay, the underpayment of salaries, claims for separation pay, and other monetary and social benefits filed by 14 workers.

A total of 14 different RFAs were separately handled and immediately acted upon by the Single Entry Approach Desk Officers (SEADOs).

Each issue was deemed settled and closed with monetary benefits amounting to P74,238.85 for 14 workers.

The Cagayan de Oro City Field Office SEADOs were in charge of organizing the series of SENA conferences.

SEnA is an administrative approach to providing a speedy, impartial, inexpensive, and accessible settlement procedure for all labor or employment issues to prevent them from ripening into full-blown disputes or actual labor cases. Through SENA, conciliation and mediation for labor issues or conflicts were done with the assistance of a SEADO.

Through the years, DOLE upheld employees' rights, promoted their welfare, and preserved industrial peace. Its mission is not only to promote gainful employment opportunities, but also to provide assistance and fair solutions to various labor issues. (DOLE-10/PIA-10)
