PUERTO PRINCESA CITY — A total of 560 cruise passengers and 482 crew arrived in Puerto Princesa City, Palawan as MV Seabourn Encore successfully anchored its maiden cruise call in Puerto Princesa Seaport in the morning of February 09, 2023.
This is the first cruise call in the Philippines since the COVID-19 temporarily closed the Philippine borders in 2020. Regional Director Azucena C. Pallugna, Ph.D. of the Department of Tourism MIMAROPA together with Puerto Princesa City Mayor Lucilo R. Bayron, PPA Manager Elizalde M. Ulson, and other local officials warmly welcomed the cruise guests with cultural dances and ceremonial activities.
During their shore excursions, the passengers visited some of the famous attractions in Puerto Princesa City such as the Puerto Princesa Underground River, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the New7Wonders of Nature, Honda Bay islands, City Tour, among others.
MV Seaborn Encore departed from Singapore to Puerto Princesa City, Palawan last February 5, 2023. As of writing, the cruise ship sails to other Philippine destinations en route to Coron, Manila, Boracay, and other Southeast Asian countries. This is 1 of the 22 cruise calls scheduled in Puerto Princesa City and 1 of the 41 in the MIMAROPA Region this year. (DOT-MIMAROPA)
