VALENCIA CITY, Bukidnon (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture-Philippine Rural Development Project in Region 10 (DA-PRDP 10) and the Project Support Office Mindanao (PSO Mindanao) conducted a Citizens Monitoring Team (CMT) training for local government units (LGUs) in Bukidnon from January 31 to February 3.
Joseph Rico, PSO Mindanao monitoring and evaluation unit head, said the training helps LGUs, as well as citizens and beneficiaries, learn how to monitor different sub-projects (SPs).
He stressed that the CMT training will make sure that the SPs are used correctly and in line with the World Bank's policies and rules.
In the meantime, the DA-10 Regional Project Coordination Office, under the direction of Regional Executive Director Carlene Collado, urged attendees to act as SP watchdogs.
"Being the co-owner of SPs, it is your responsibility to monitor the construction, which should be aligned to the World Bank policies and guidelines, and ensure its quality, durability, and sustainability," he said.
Participants are expected to know how to keep an eye on the phases of SPs and suggest changes if they need to.
Training participants include representatives from the local governments of Manolo Fortich, Lantapan, and Valencia City in Bukidnon province. (DA-10/PIA-10/Bukidnon)
