MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--In line with the whole of nation approach to ending local communist armed conflict in the province, the 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion (58IB) held a consultation meeting with the ACES Philproducers Corporation for the employment of former rebels (FRs) and the people's organizations (POs) on the ongoing construction of the APC Dairy Farm at Sitio Pasto, Barangay Plaridel, Claveria, February 15.

Fifty people from the group of redirected and empowered people called the New Indigenous Barangay Plaridel Farmers Association (NIBPFA) and FRs will be hired as construction workers.

This includes hollow block production by the FRs, which were trained by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA)-Misamis Oriental and 58IB under one of its skills capacity-building programs.

On March 18, 2022, an encounter occurred within the boundaries of Barangay Natubo, Jasaan, and Barangay Plaridel, Claveria, that claimed the lives of two members of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG).

The initiative is part of the 58IB’s conflict-vulnerable area sustainability efforts in their area of responsibility. (58IB/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
