CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro --  A one-day face-to-face Seminar for Solemnizing Officers (SOs) was held last 24 January 2023 at the Oriental Mindoro Heritage Museum, Brgy. Ibaba East, Calapan City. It was attended by the SOs of the province of Oriental Mindoro.

The seminar intends to update SOs on Administrative Order No. 1, Series of 2021, “2021 Implementing Rules and Regulations Governing the Registration of Authority to Solemnize Marriage of Bishops, Heads/Founders of Religions and Religious Sects, Priests, Rabis, religious Ministers, Tribal Heads/Leaders/Chieftains. Community Leaders and other Designated Authorities with the Office of the Civil Registrar General.”

The activity also aims to provide a review on the roles and responsibilities of an SO in exercising his authority. Marriage laws in the Philippines was discussed by Atty. Rey Daniel S. Acedillo of Calapan City Legal Office. (PSA MIMAROPA)
