CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-10, headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado, turned over the Certificate of Accreditation to the Bayanihan Millennium Multi-Purpose Cooperative (BMMPC), February 10, at the agency compound, here.

Carlota S. Madriaga, who is the Regional Technical Director for Operations for DA-10 and the Chairperson of the Regional Technical Committee for Accreditation of Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), gave the certificate to BMMPC Treasurer Marel Rose L. Leones.a

The BMMPC is a Bukidnon-based cooperative that helps the coffee farmers and indigenous people in Pangantucan town improve their businesses and ways of making a living.

Currently, it sells a wide range of products centered on its Robusta and Arabica coffee offerings through the Kape Napalit brand.

Leones said their accreditation as an implementing and beneficiary civil society organization will help their cooperative to avail more services and assistance from the government in the future.

He also said that BMMPC plans to get help from the DA-Philippine Rural Development Project (PRDP) to build a central processing facility so that it can do more coffee processing.

Also present during the turnover were the head and member of the Regional Technical Secretariat, Assistant Chief Lourdes P. Rudinas and Project Evaluation Officer II, Engr. Rona M. Quiao, of the Planning, Monitoring, and Evaluation Division, respectively, and DA-10 Consultant Joel S. Rudinas. (DA-10/PIA-10)
