CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Securities and Exchange Commission-Cagayan de Oro Extension Office signed a Memorandum of Agreement through the SEC Communication, Advocacy, and Networks (SEC-CAN!) Program with the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, held at the City Mayor’s Office, February 27.
The MOA aims to set up networks with SEC-registered businesses and organizations with their main office in Cagayan de Oro City, promote financial literacy and investor education, and hold other seminars and trainings that would help these SEC-registered businesses and organizations.
This is in line with the goal of the Commission, which is to assist with the compliance of reportorial requirements, particularly for non-stock corporations.
Mayor Rolando "Klarex" Uy, City Administrator Lawyer Roy Hilario Raagas, SEC-CDOEO Director Lawyer Frederick A. Enopia, and SEC-CDOEO Supervising Administrative Officer Jesher M. Radaza were all there for the signing ceremony.
Enopia is thankful for the strong support of Mayor Uy's administration in addressing the concerns of SEC-registered entities and promoting investor education in general.
"The City of Cagayan de Oro is the first LGU we partnered with in the SEC-CAN program. We are delighted by the strong support of Mayor Uy’s administration in response to our goal of ensuring that the constituents of the city will be compliant with the SEC requirements, the people of CDO are informed investors, and that financial literacy shall be introduced to these Kagay-anons," he said.
The SEC-CDOEO also is looking forward to conduct activities with the city government in the coming months especially the upcoming roadshow on capital formation among the Micro, Medium, and Small Enterprises in Region 10 on April 14 where Cagayan de Oro is the host city. (SEC-CDO/PIA-10)
