DOLE gives livelihood assistance to two Associations in San Fernando

SAN FERNANDO, Romblon (DOLE Romblon) -- The Department of Labor and Employment MIMAROPA through its Romblon Field Office recently awarded P602,536.00 for the enhancement of the livelihood projects of the San Fernando Kabulig Association and Canjalon Agrarian Reform Cooperative at San Fernando, Romblon.

Both associations showed commitment to their livelihood and have actively supported the Department in its community development thrusts.

The Barangay Local Government Units of Poblacion and Canjalon served as the Accredited Co-partners for the benefit of the 87 members.

The grant of 237,000.00 will fund the provision of existing virgin coconut oil production livelihood of San Fernando Kabulig Association and Php 365,536.00 awarded to Canjalon Agrarian Reform Cooperative will be used for their enhancement of tarpaulin, t-shirt printing, and mug printing services with the photocopying machine.

"Bilang isang kooperatiba, malaki ang maitutulong ng enhancement program sa aming livelihood na hatid ng DOLE Romblon, ito ay isang daan para muling buksan ang aming hangarin na magbigay ng hanap-buhay at dagdag na kita sa aming mga miyembro at nasasakupa," according to Mr. Ruel Royo, Chairman of Canjalon Agrarian Reform Cooperative.

According to DOLE - Romblon's press release "they are committed to support any economic activity that will serve as a source of viable employment options to generate income among the low-income groups in the community while promoting entrepreneurship and empowering the potentials and skills of each individual or group and its contributions."
