DA-10 strengthens seeds provision for MisOr

MISAMIS ORIENTAL (PIA)--The Department of Agriculture-Regional Field Office (DA-RFO)-10 headed by OIC-Regional Executive Director Carlene C. Collado continues the provision of assorted vegetable seeds to the staff of the Provincial Agriculture’s Office (PAGRO) of Misamis Oriental as part of its efforts to strengthen food availability and affordability, March 3.

DA-10 Regional Technical Director for Operations Carlota S. Madriaga and High-Value Crops Development Program focal person Kersten S. Pagalan gave PAGRO-MisOr Agricultural Technologist Benjamin C. Boston, Jr., 75 packets of vegetable seeds that are often used in chop suey, garden salad, and pinakbet.

Boston said that the turnover seeds are part of the Food Always in the Home (FAITH) project. This project aims to improve food security, sustainability, and nutrition in the province by encouraging families and groups to garden in cities.

In October 2022, the Misamis Oriental Provincial Government (PGMO), through its PAGRO, started the FAITH project as one of its programs to help the agricultural sector of the province. This was done in line with the PAGLAUM strategic direction and was done through the PAGRO. (DA-10/PIA-10/Misamis Oriental)
