CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--As one of the active members of the Regional Committee for the Welfare of Children (RCWC), the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 strengthened its strategy to help make the Local Councils for the Protection (LCPC) of Children functional and responsive, through the LCPC Gumagalaw Caravan.
Local Government Operations Officer (LGOO) Jacklyn Mariz P. Occeña highlighted the importance of collaboration to all stakeholders in ensuring a safe and protected space for children in the society.
"Through the collaborative efforts of all stakeholders as well as the national government agencies, we will be able to live in an environment where the rights of our children are protected and promoted, where they feel safe, and where they can thrive," she said.
The activity also discussed relevant policies and new mechanisms to strengthen child protection support at the barangay, municipal, city, provincial, regional, and national levels. The five-point legislative agenda formulation, the Budget Tagging Tool for Children (BTS4C), and the CWC Makabata hotline were all introduced during the activity. (DILG-10/PIA-10)
