CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--Three Sustainable Livelihood Program Associations (SLPA), namely Mambuaya Masagana SLPA Community Store, Urban 4Ps SLPA in Iponan, and Magkahiusa SLPA, recently opened their stores as a result of the livelihood assistance grant given by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Field Office 10, receiving P15,000 each per member.
In fact, a number of SLPAs have opened and marked the beginning of their work, from the gathering of their members to teaching the beneficiaries how to run their businesses and writing their proposals.
Through this, the SLP participants can start anew and work towards improving their socioeconomic conditions and living a better life.
The DSWD, provincial coordinators, the City Social Welfare and Development Office, and their barangay officials all attended these grand openings in full support of the associations.
Last year, SLP helped 14,116 people live better lives and get assets and equipment that will help them in the long run.
DSWD calls for more participants, who may contact the SLP Field Office 10 hotline at 0953 265-6033. (DSWD-10/PIA-10)
