PUERTO PRINCESA CITY, Palawan (PIA) -- The United States Armed Forces (USAF) and Australian Defense Force (ADF) counterparts conducted actual demonstrations on Over the Beach (OTB) Drill as part of the ongoing Balikatan (BK) 38-23 events in the AFP Western Command (WESCOM) joint operational area (JOA).

WESCOM's elite Naval Special Operation Units 4, 8 and 10 participated in the training activity which was held at vicinity of El Nido Bay in El Nido, Palawan.

Over the Beach (OTB) is a mode of insertion and exfiltration when land and air insertion is not applicable due to the level of threat and possible resistance of the enemy.

WESCOM will continue to support BK 38-23 training activities because they help maintain a high level of readiness and responsiveness, and enhance military-to-military relations and capabilities.

These training activities also enhance the allied forces' tactics, techniques, and procedures across a wide range of military operations. (PIA Palawan/WESCOM PR)
