TACLOBAN CITY -- Some 345 jobseekers were successfully hired-on-the-spot (HOTS) during the Labor Day Job Fair on May 1 held at the Tacloban City Convention Center (Astrodome).
Hired-on-the-spot applicants were able to land jobs such as call center agents, service crew, sales associates, merchandisers, financial advisors, marketing officers, mall assistants, sales representatives and teachers.
Among the establishments that were able to hire on-the-spot were Virtual Staffing Solutions, LCTC Allied Services, Crispy King Food Station, Limpyada Cleaning Services, Tacloban ANJ Marketing, Polycentrik Lending Corporation, Metro Retail Stores Group, Ace Promotion Marketing Corporation, Home Credit, Robinsons Land Corporation and AXA Philippines.
A total of 2,712 jobseekers have registered in the one-day job fair, where 1,510 were reported as qualified for the jobs applied for. Aside from the HOTS, 435 applicants were tagged as "near hires" and will be undergoing further interviews and examinations as required by the employers.
With the theme, “Pabahay, Bilihing Abot-Presyo, Benepisyo ng Matatag na Trabaho para sa Manggagawang Pilipino,” this year’s Labor Day Job Fair spearheaded by the Department of Labor and Employment Region 8 offered more than 8,000 local and overseas jobs from over 70 private employers. (DOLE-8)
