CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The National Irrigation Administration (NIA)-10 held a Constructor’s Forum to further strengthen its contract management through stern monitoring and coordination, May 5.
Attended by the different contractors and representatives of the irrigation management offices from LAMISCA (Lanao del Norte, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, and Camiguin), Bukidnon, and Lanao del Sur, the forum aims to give updates and information on civil works, contract administration, and management in conformity with the agency’s procedures, protocols, and guidelines.
The event also serves as a venue for the presentation of the process flow for billings, existing agency policies regarding contract administration, the status of ongoing civil work contracts, material testing, quality assurance, and other concerns. It also tackled a refresher on the Government Procurement Act, or Republic Act 9184, and the Constructors Performance Evaluation System (CPES).
Acting Regional Manager Armando E. Arizala recognizes all contractors as partners in the effective service delivery of the agency and acknowledges their dedication, capability, commitment, and aspiration for the betterment of projects through proper implementation.
With the different contractors present, the forum identified and recommended strategies on construction methods to advance the implementation of delayed projects and hasten the completion of carry-over projects from prior years’ irrigation programs.
NIA-10 continues to uphold its mandate of serving its farmer clientele by providing effective and sustainable irrigation services. The agency hopes that all the contractors will uphold their responsibilities by completing the projects on time. (NIA-10/PIA-10)
