On 03 April 2023, the Office for Alternative Dispute Resolution (OADR) launched its brand new corporate seal, coinciding with the 19th anniversary of the enactment of Republic Act No. 9285, or the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) Act of 2004, the law that created it as an attached agency of the Department of Justice (DOJ).
The corporate seal design, which was conceptualized by none other than OADR's Executive Director V, Undersecretary Irene De Torres Alogoc, CESO I, represents the agency's vision of an enlightened society that rises above conflicts and empowers people to settle their own disputes in a fair and just manner.
In detail, the seal's major elements-the dove, Lady Justice, handshake, and the rays of the sun-symbolize peace and purity of OADR's intention in delivering quality public service, the virtue of impartial justice that is promoted through the use of ADR, demonstration of peaceful intent, mutual commitment and seeing of a bond among disputing parties, and maintaining Filipino resemblance while engaging with the international ADR community, respectively.
For its main colors, blue represents sincerity, wisdom, confidence, stability, and erudition of the OADR management and personnel. White signifies the agency's efficiency in public service and integrity as an institution. Yellow reflects the optimism. that more ADR practitioners will commit to providing ADR services, while Black elicits professionalism and substance which conveys a sense of respectability in the ADR community.
"Even with the new look of the OADR, the quality of ADR services will remain consistent. Partners and stakeholders in both the public and private sectors can expect that the OADR will listen to their needs to better respond to the challenge of the times," said OADR Undersecretary Alogoc in her speech during the brand launch.
The OADR Corporate Identity Manual and the agency's official hymn were also launched during the event alongside the OADR Academy and Resource Center which is poised to become the country's central knowledge, learning, and development hub for ADR.
Indeed, exciting times are ahead for the OADR with this brand new look. The public can truly expect more from the Agency as it continues to promote access to justice through ADR.
