OROQUIETA CITY, Misamis Occidental (PIA)--A total of 341 beneficiaries of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) program on Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) underwent an orientation at Migcanaway Function Hall, Tangub City.

In collaboration with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO), the Department of Labor and Employment Regional Office (DOLE)-10 conducted the TUPAD orientation through its Misamis Occidental Provincial Field Office under the direction of its Provincial Director Ebba B. Acosta.

Acosta said TUPAD is a component of the DOLE's Integrated Livelihood and Emergency Employment Program (DILEEP), which provides displaced employees, underemployed workers, and seasonal workers with emergency employment for a minimum of ten days and a maximum of thirty days, depending on the nature of the activity to be performed.

City Councilors Antonio Caylan and Leonido Tala attended the orientation together with PESO Manager Victoria S. Berioso, who expressed their gratitude to DOLE for choosing Tangub as the recipient of TUPAD.

The 341 TUPAD beneficiaries will render community service with a corresponding payment of P405 per day, for a total of P2,762,100. These workers will be deployed in their communities for disinfection,  sanitation, and clean-up drives for twenty days for the purpose of preventing the transmission of diseases and helping maintain the cleanliness of their community.

TUPAD guidelines, Occupational Safety and Health Standards (OSHS), and GSIS Insurance benefits were discussed during the orientation to completely equip the beneficiaries with knowledge and skills before the commencement of their emergency employment. (DOLE-10/PIA-10/Misamis Occidental)
