CAMP CAPINPIN, Rizal -- A New People's Army (NPA) officer voluntarily surrendered to government troops in Oriental Mindoro on May 30, 2023.

Troops from the 4th Infantry “Scorpion” Battalion of the 203rd Infantry “Bantay Kapayapaan” Brigade facilitated the voluntary surrendering of alias 'Oning/Mon-Mon/Missy/Misi' in Brgy. Wasig, Mansalay, Oriental Mindoro.

Alias Oning is the medical and logistics officer of Platun Serna of KLG MAV of the Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee’s Sub-Regional Military Area 4D.

"We are grateful for the growing trust of our kababayans in the government’s peace initiatives in partnership with our Local Government Units and key stakeholders. We will be continuously working with all sectors to encourage more of the remaining NPA rebels to heed the call for peace and work with the government for a better future with their families,” 2nd Infantry "Jungle Fighter" Division Commander Major General Roberto S.
