NIA turns over irrigation system to farmers in Sta. Fe, Romblon

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA) Mimaropa led by Acting Regional Manager Ronilio M. Cervantes, inaugurated the turnover ceremony of Pandan Communal Irrigation System-Solar Pump Irrigation Project (CIS-SPIP) on July 4, 2023, at Barangay Pandan, Sta. Fe, Romblon.

This project is under the Mindoro Oriental-Marinduque-Romblon (MOMARO) Irrigation Management Office (IMO) program, which will provide irrigation services to ten hectares of farmland benefitting the 22 farmers of Pandan Irrigators Association (PIA).

The works undertaken in this project include the installation of solar panels, a water tank, a control panel house, a drain box, a valve box, a pedestal for solar mounting, and a 2" diameter HDPE pipeline.

During the event, Cervantes reminded the association of their vital role in ensuring the proper operation and maintenance of the project.

"Bantayan at tiyakin n'yo ang maayos na pagpapatakbo at pagpapanatili ng proyekto at sumunod kayo sa rules and regulations na ipinapatupad ng IA," Cervantes said.

PIA President Melsie D. Conching further expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the project, " Ito ay napakagandang project kasi walang gastos," she added.
