CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) -- The Local Planning and Development Coordinators (LPDCs) in Northern Mindanao convened in a meeting on 30 June 2023 via videoconferencing to tackle the localization of the Regional Development Plan (RDP) 2023-2028 Results Matrix and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) indicators.
The adoption of said indicators in the local development plans will facilitate the measurement of the contribution of programs and projects to the achievement of the desired outcomes.
Also discussed in the said meeting was the data sharing protocol with the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for the utilization of the results from the National Household Targeting System for Poverty Reduction or the Listahanan 3: Talaan ng Pamilyang Nangangailangan. The DSWD requests the local governments to use the Listahanan 3 for the identification and targeting of beneficiaries of social protection programs and services.
In his message, Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG)-10 Regional Director Wilhelm M. Suyko said “we believe in the power of collaboration between the national and local government, private sector and development partners. Hence this regular meeting of the local planners.”
Mylah Faye Aurora B. Cariño, NEDA-X Regional Director and RDC-X Vice-Chairperson expressed her delight at the turnout of the meeting, with representatives from the DILG, DSWD, and Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development.
She highlighted that the meeting is a venue for local planners to seek clarifications from the regional line agencies to have a common understanding of issues so that moving forward, the actions are appropriate and meaningful.
The local planners were also called upon to generate support for the RDP 2023-2028 Provincial and Highly Urbanized City Roadshows, which aim to disseminate and promote the region’s comprehensive development agenda and engage stakeholders in the collaborative pursuit of sustainable and inclusive growth.
