CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA) -- The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)-10 is conducting the July 2023 Labor Force Survey (LFS) and the first visit of the 2023 Family Income and Expenditure Survey (FIES) on July 08-31 2023.
The LFS is a comprehensive survey conducted monthly and quarterly, that measures the country's current labor market and is used, among other things, to calculate national and provincial employment and unemployment rates. This LFS round will be used to quantify the continuing effect of the pandemic crisis on labor and employment in the country.
The FIES is a survey on family income and expenditure of households undertaken by the PSA across the country. It is the main source of data on family income and expenditure in the Philippines.
The 2023 FIES aims to gather data on family income and family living expenditure and related information affecting income and expenditure levels and patterns in the Philippines; determine the sources of income and income distribution, levels of living and spending patterns, and the degree of inequality among families; provide benchmark information to update weights in the estimation of Consumer Price lndex (CPl); and provide inputs in the estimation of the country's poverty threshold and incidence.
The 2023 FIES Visit 1 is a rider survey to the July 2023 LFS which will cover data for the period January 1 to June 30, 2023.
A total of 10,033 sample households will be visited and interviewed by authorized 408 statistical researchers or field enumerators all over Region 10. The interview will be conducted using tablets through a Computer Assisted Personal Interviewing application.
In line with this, the PSA-10 enjoins everyone in the region, especially the selected sample households, to support the said surveys by providing the required information. All data collected will be kept strictly confidential in compliance with Republic Act 10173 or the Data Privacy Act of 2012 and Section 26 of Republic Act 10625. (PSA-10/PIA-10)
