CLAVERIA, Misamis Oriental (PIA)--The 58th Infantry "Dimalulupig" Battalion (58IB), in collaboration with the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Claveria, Minergy Power Corporation, Tri-NACPHIL, and some private stakeholders, conducted a Serbisyo Caravan at Sitio Malunsagay, Barangay Minalwang, June 29.
Spearheaded by the troops of the 58IB as part of their efforts to reach far-flung areas that are insurgency-affected communities in its area of responsibility and provide government services and assistance.
Around 150 children received school supplies and hygiene kits. Various services were also provided, such as medical and dental check-ups, a feeding program, and circumcision.
The troops of 58IB conducted an information drive on Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) recruitment and reorganized the People’s Organization of the community to help them avail of the livelihood programs offered by the government.
This service caravan is in support of the national government’s Executive Order 70, or Whole-of-Nation approach to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, which aims to bring government programs and services closer to communities and lessen the influence of communist groups.
