CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)-10 received a Platinum Award for its outstanding implementation of the DOLE Communication Program for FY 2022 and was awarded as a Best Practice in Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) during the Communication Planning and Multi-Media Production Training for Labor Information Officers at Hotel Casiana, Tagaytay City.
The training aims to capacitate all Labor Information Officers (LIOs) from regional offices, bureaus, attached agencies, and Services in capturing the latest, timely, and accurate information that will enhance communication strategies in order to deliver appropriate news articles to the public.
DOLE Labor Secretary Lawyer Bienvenido E. Laguesma graced the activity together with Undersecretary Ciriaco A. Lagunzad III, Head of General Administration and Regional Operations Cluster, Assistant Secretary Warren Miclat, Assistant Secretary Dominique Rubia-Tutay, and DOLE Region IV-A Regional Director Lawyer Roy L. Buenafe.
Secretary Laguesma lauded the unwavering efforts of all the LIOs from all levels and agencies in bringing life to all the programs and activities of the Department and transforming them into newsworthy articles that are relevant to the mission and vision of the Department.
"Hiling ko lamang sa inyo bilang Labor Information Officers na prayoridad ng ating kasalukuyang Administrasyon lalo na ang DOLE na tayo ay magiging accessible, responsable na ahensya upang isulong ang paghahatid ng mga serbisyo lalo na sa mga hardly reached, underserved or unserved areas. Kailangan lage tayong maghahatid ng tama, angkop, napapanahon, maaasahan at kapaki-pakinabang na mga impormasyon," Laguesma added.

Lagunzad extended his gratitude to the Information and Publication Services for facilitating the four-day training for all LIOs and for ensuring that the goals set to develop the necessary skills for the performance of duties and responsibilities, to learn techniques for framing DOLE stories, and to develop knowledge using multi-media production and communication strategies have been met.
Lagunzad emphasized that it is the LIO’s task to disseminate accurate, timely, and relevant information related to DOLE’s policies, programs, projects, and activities for public and media consumption.
OIC-Regional Director Estrella Uy-Pahalla expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all PFO/Unit Heads and men and women of DOLE-10, most importantly to the designated Field and Regional Office LIOs, for delivering extra efforts to adhere and produce relevant and accurate information in promoting DOLE programs and services to the public.
Hence, these recognitions continuously empower the region’s aim to increase awareness of all DOLE undertakings in order to achieve the goal of addressing labor and employment concerns. Pahalla added that through these recognitions, the department will continue to pursue its contributions in the implementation of DOLE programs and services.
LEO III Ma. Criselda Dal received the recognition during the Gantimpala sa Adbokasiyang Wasto at Angkop ng DOLE Labor Information Officers (GAWAD LIO) as the Regional LIO Alternate Representative. (DOLE-10/PIA-10)
