MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL (PIA)--The Provincial Government of Misamis Occidental handed over a cash reward of P300,000 each for the commendable actions of two former members, rebels of Iskwad Dos, Platoon Uno, GF Sendong Baby, 17, and Jean, 25, for their voluntary surrender to the 10th Infantry Battalion, recently.
The decision of Baby and Jean to surrender highlights the effectiveness of the collaborative efforts between the provincial government and the 10IB in addressing insurgency and promoting peace and stability in Misamis Occidental.
Their choice to reintegrate into society serves as a testament to the belief that comprehensive peacebuilding endeavors, guided by the rule of law, can yield positive outcomes. Through such dedicated and cooperative approaches, the province aims to achieve lasting peace, creating an environment of progress and prosperity for all its residents.
The ‘5Ms’ or ‘Misamisnon Magpuyong Malinawon, Malambuon ug Malipayon’ (Misamisnon Live Peaceful, Prosperous, and Happy) is one of Gov. Henry Oaminal’s flagship initiatives for the province. One of the key priorities of this platform, according to Oaminal, "is to find an end to the insurgency and conflict in Misamis Occidental."
The governor also expressed his deep appreciation to the 10th Infantry Battalion for their unwavering commitment to peace and security. The tireless efforts of the Philippine Army have made a significant impact in bringing about enduring stability to the province.
