CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY (PIA)--The Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA) and the Local Government of Cagayan de Oro City inked a Memorandum of Agreement (MoA) for the implementation of the Batch Request Query System (BREQS) in the city.
The MoA was signed by City Mayor Rolando 'Klarex' Uy, City Civil Registrar Evangeline C. Tapangan, and PSA Officer-in-Charge Janith C. Aves, July 11.
Through the office of the City Civil Registrar, the LGU partner receives and encodes applications for documents like birth, marriage, death, and Certificate of No Marriage (CENOMAR) in Security Paper (SECPA) through BREQS, which is offline processing by batch.
Through the BREQS, PSA authorizes the LGU partner to serve as a BREQS outlet, receive requests for PSA-issued copies and certifications of civil registry documents, and issue them to clients.
Under the scheme, PSA shall provide the BREQS user with the software, form templates, updates, and procedures necessary for servicing its clientele. The software will enable the BREQ User to do offline encoding of the application details.
The collaboration between LGU-Cagayan de Oro City and PSA will lead to positive outcomes and even improve services to the public through a streamlined process. It benefits the PSA's daily operation in terms of crowd management while giving convenience to the clients.
This scheme is not just limited to the constituents of Cagayan de Oro City but also those coming from neighboring localities.
By filing their application at the Office of the City Civil Registrar, clients need not travel to distant PSA Civil Registry System (PSA-CRS) outlets, thereby saving time, money, and effort.
